Lung disease is the number three killer in America, responsible for one in seven deaths. Today, more than 35 million Americans are living with chronic lung disease such as asthma, emphysema and bronchitis. The American Lung Association of Florida (ALAF) strives to help lung disease patients live actively and productively. To that end, ALAF provides information to the patient and the caregiver on specific lung diseases, strategies for managing lung disease, new research protocols, etc. This section includes information on state and national treatment and support options for people living with lung disease.
